Stubbs, who is the Founder/Visionary of Essence Beauty Boutique & Med Spa, told The SUN this milestone feels like a dream come true.
“Finally getting to open Essence Beauty Boutique and Med Spa, feels like a dream come true. It is incredibly fulfilling and exhilarating to finally open the doors to my own business. It’s like stepping into a world of endless possibilities and being able to share my passion for beauty and wellness with others. It’s a mix of nerves, anticipation and pure joy,” she said.
She added: “As a young lady, I’ve always been interested in all things beauty. My first paying job as an international student was at a company called Sephora – which is a large corporation for beauty enthusiasts and professionals.
Helping people feel confident and relaxed is something that brings me joy. I found that my job at Sephora helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. The company also gave me the proper education through Sephora University where I got to learn a wide range of beauty insider tips and tricks.”
Stubbs said EBB is a wonderful place where they offer a variety of beauty and wellness services, adding that they particularly specialize in providing non-invasive alternatives for those who may be hesitant or unsuitable candidates for surgical procedures.
She added: “Our focus is on offering safe and effective non-invasive options to help individuals achieve their desired results. Additionally, we provide pre-surgery preparation services to ensure our clients are well prepared for their surgical procedures. For those who have undergone surgery, we offer postoperative massages to aid in the recovery process.”
Meantime, Stubbs noted that when he started this business, he went in with an open mind set of having a place that was inclusive and welcoming to everyone.
Some of their popular services include facials, massages, Japanese head spa treatments, hair styling, waxing and body treatments. Some of their body treatments include non-invasive lipo, yesotherapy and IV therapy for a holistic approach to beauty and wellness.
Their team of skilled professionals is dedicated to providing exceptional service and creating a relaxing experience for all clients.
In addition, Stubbs told The SUN that her dream of opening her own spa unit has been in the making since 2020.
“My dream of opening my own spa unit has been in the making since 2020. I moved back home to this beautiful country in 2018. I resigned from my job at that time in the beginning of the year. I told myself that I have to be my own boss. I almost signed a lease to open in 2020 but COVID-19 hit,” she said. “This was a hard realization for not only myself but for many other business owners in Turks and Caicos Islands. Since then, it’s been a journey filled with hard work and dedication, but it’s all been worth it.”
“I finally got a unit two years later, 2022. Thanks to my husband Peter Adrain Stubbs and my parents Mr. &Mrs. Ewing-Singh for being my biggest supporter. My husband, who was also my contractor, saw my vision on a piece of paper and literally brought it to life. “I am proud to say that I finally opened my unit in February 2024. It has been an amazing experience so far, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me,” she explained.
Stubbs said the support from the community has been very generous with an outpouring amount of love from locals, expats and tourists alike.
She added that their goal is to create a relaxing, rejuvenating and ultimately a safe space for all of their clients, helping them look and feel their best. She also said they strive to offer top-notch services in a serene and welcoming environment.
“At Essence Beauty Boutique, we pride ourselves on our unique approach to beauty. We prioritize personalized experiences, using high-quality products and techniques tailored to each individual. Our knowledgeable team is dedicated to providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. “We strive to go above and beyond to make our clients feel special and confident,” she said.
Stubbs said in five years, she hopes to see Essence Beauty Boutique thriving and expanding.
She added, “My vision is to have multiple locations, each offering a wide range of services and innovative beauty treatments. I want to establish our brand as a go-to destination for relaxation, rejuvenation, and self-care. It’s important to me that we continue to provide exceptional experience for our clients and build a strong reputation in the industry. I’m excited about the future and the possibilities it holds for my business.”
